Winter school organized by AIT kicks off

The winter school on Religion, Culture and Society-3 organized by Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) in Lankaran region, has kicked off today.

The Institute staff first visited Heydar Aliyev’s monument in the city center and paid tribute to the memory of the national leader laying flowers at the monument. Then they visited the Alley of Martyrs and the graves of our brave sons who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our country.

AIT rector Agil Shirinov wished the students well during the winter school opening ceremony. A.Shirinov recommended students to take advantage of the program, noting that it will provide them with several options.

The Rector then emphasized the significance of the winter school on Religion, Culture, and Society-3, which is being held in Lankaran. He also mentioned that getting acquainted with the existing historical and religious landmarks in the area, as well as the seminars held for students, have a special character.

Gunduz Ismayilov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCWRA), spoke about the multicultural environment in the country. He emphasized the relevance of winter school excursions and seminars in broadening students’ knowledge and enriching their outlook. G.Ismayilov recommended young people to benefit from these opportunities. Gaghai Mammadov, head of the Lankaran branch of the SCWRA, wished success to the project participants.
Students then visited Heydar Aliyev Center in Lankaran.

The winter school aims to enrich students’ world outlook and familiarize them with the multicultural and tolerant environment, ethnic and religious diversity as well as peaceful coexistence of different peoples in our country.
