Jeyhun Mammadov: “It is important to be a professional of one’s speciality, acquire high-level language and speaking skills”

Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) continues its promotional events in the regions of Azerbaijan with the aim of attracting high-level and intellectual students for the 2019-2020 academic year. The next visit of the Institute staff was to Ismayilli district.

Laying flowers at the monument of Heydar Aliyev, the Institute officials paid tribute to the memory of national leader.

Mirdamad Sadigov, Head of the Executive Power in Ismayilli District, welcomed the guests and said that reforms implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev for the development of the education system in the country constitute one of the main directions of the state social policy. M. Sadigov mentioned the conditions created in Ismayilli under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, rapid development, care for education, Ismayilli intellectuals, scholars and scientists. He noted that the development of students in the spirit of patriotism, Azerbaijani nationalism and national and spiritual values should be taken into consideration seriously and the achievements of training and education should complement one another.

AIT rector Jeyhun Mammadov said that the implementation of educational reforms in the country, constant renovation of the educational infrastructure and starting new educational stages are a clear example of President Ilham Aliyev’s attention and care. Thanks to modern and flexible approaches, our educational institutions are making significant progress in terms of quality indicators and a more healthy psychological environment.

The Rector recommended the applicants to choose their favorite subject and noted that it is important to be a professional of one’s speciality, acquire high level language and speaking skills.

Mentioning the history of the Institute, its activities, goals and objectives, the Rector noted that the education at the Institute is tuition-free. He stressed that this is a great chance for those who want to become a theologian but are not able to pay tuition fees. One of our main goals is to prepare specialists with high religious and secular knowledge who are far from superstitions and ignorance.

Elvusal Mammadov, PhD in Philosophy, Instructor of Arabic at AIT, noted that the establishment of the Institute of Theology is an important event for the religious and public life of the country and is an example of the importance attached to religion and spiritual values by Azerbaijani state.

E.Mammadov said that the Institute prepares religious specialists who have knowledge of both religious and secular sciences and acquire different languages. Preparation of such specialists is important in terms of introducing religion in a right way and preventing dangerous trends. Azerbaijan Institute of Theology has the necessary potential for the training of specialists who match with these parameters.

Fidan Yusifova, Head of the Department of Graduate Studies at AIT, delivering a presentation, mentioned admission rules to the Institute and existing majors. She noted that each student would benefit from the necessary conditions, tuition-free education and other privileges created by the state. F. Yusifova said students will be provided with free uniforms, food, foreign language courses and other advantages.

At the end, promotional materials and video reflecting the social activities of AIT were demonstrated for the participants.
