Conference attendees visit Azerbaijan Institute of Theology

The attendees of the conference on Contribution of Muslim Scholars to the Development of Science and Technology jointly organized by Azerbaijan Institute of Theology, Yunus Emre Baku Institute, Kirikkale University and Fuat Sezgin Islamic History of Science Researches Foundation on November, 29, 2019, visited AIT.

Welcoming the guests, AIT rector Jeyhun Mammadov expressed his satisfaction with their visit to the Institute. The Rector informed the guests about the inimitable activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev for the achievement of stability in the religious field in the country, preserving and strengthening the atmosphere of tolerance among all confessions.

J. Mammadov noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev continues the state-religious policy formed by great leader Heydar Aliyev with great foresight. He noted that the establishment of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology is also a logical continuation of the successful policy.

Informing the participants about the Institute, the Rector emphasized that the education is tuition free at the Institute and all the needs of students are provided by the state.
J. Mammadov said that the Institute teaches the history, belief and worship system of all religions. Apart from this, English and Arabic are taught using modern methods with a focus on improving four language skills such as reading, listening, speaking and writing.

AIT rector noted that the Institute is interested in establishing contacts with foreign universities. Emphasizing that the Institute signed cooperation protocols with many foreign universities specializing in theology, the Rector noted that the aim is to study experiences and teaching methods through mutual exchange programs.
The conference attendees expressed their gratitude to the Institute leadership for their warm welcome and said they were pleased with the existence of a tolerant environment in Azerbaijan.

The conference attendees familiarized themselves with Azerbaijan Institute of Theology. They were provided with detailed information about the activities and goals of AIT. Visiting the library of the Institute, the attendees were informed about 16,000 books that are stored in the library.

The guests spoke highly of the establishment of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology and the teaching of all religions here.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation and mutual interest.
