Azerbaijan Institute of Theology celebrates its fourth anniversary

Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) celebrated its four-year anniversary with a ceremony.

Prior to the ceremony, the Institute administration paid tribute to great leader Heydar Aliyev by laying flowers at his monument in the Alley of Honors.

AIT rector Agil Shirinov gave an introductory speech during the ceremony and spoke about the four-year activities of the institute. He stated that the Institute, which aims to maintain and develop a high religious and spiritual environment in the country, to train highly qualified personnel in the organization of religious activities, has accomplished a number of things in a short period of time. In terms of the goals and objectives, the rector stated that the Institute will have its first graduates this year.

A. Shirinov mentioned upcoming projects while noting that numerous courses are given at the Institute to support students' academic and personal development. He praised the staff's collaborative efforts to organize the institute's activities.

AIT rector emphasized that, in addition to teaching, a significant amount of work has been done in the field of research. He mentioned that our academic journal is published bianually, and that our instructors' research efforts are published throughout the year. Many of these papers represent cutting-edge research. Scientific publications written by our teachers have also been published in worldwide journals such as Web of Science and Scopus.

A. Shirinov stressed that special emphasis is dedicated to the further improvement of education at the institute, and that relationships with many top overseas universities have been created for this reason. He mentioned that an English-language department will be established at the institute this semester, and that two students from Nur-Mubarak University of Kazakhstan will continue their education at AIT.

Mubariz Jamalov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Learning Technologies, also congratulated the staff on their four-year activity. He mentioned the upcoming goals for further improvement of education and the development of students as educated, highly qualified personnel.

Mirniyaz Mursalov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, congratulated the staff of the Institute on the fruitful four-year activity. He noted that as a result of joint work of the team, the goals and objectives will be achieved soon.

Other AIT leaders and employees also congratulated the staff on the four-year activity and wished them success in their future activities.

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology was established under the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan by President Ilham Aliyev’s order dated February 9, 2018.
