Bursa Summer School continues

The summer school organized in Bursa city of Turkey for students of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) continues.

The next day of the summer school students visited the tombs of I Chelebi Sultan Mehmet and Amir Sultan as well as Conquest 1326 Panorama Museum.

During the visit to the tomb of I Chelebi Sultan Mehmet, students were informed about the construction. The tomb was built in 1421 by Sultan Mehmet Chelebi son of Yildirim Bayezid. It is considered to be the symbol of Bursa and includes the tombs of Mehmet Chelebi, his sons Prince Mustafa, Mahmut and Yusuf, his daughters Selcuk Hatun, Sitti Hatun and Ayshe Hatun. The construction is also known as Green Building.

During the visit to the tomb of Amir Sultan which dates back to the 15th century, the students were informed that the place is one of the most famous religious places in Turkey. Amir Sultan lived during the reign of three Ottoman sultans and attained sufi rank of waliyy.

AIT students also visited Conquest 1326 Panorama Museum. The exhibits belonging to the Ottoman period aroused interest in young people. Being the largest panoramic museum in the world, Conquest 1326 Panorama Museum depicts the conquest in 360 degrees of vision.

The official opening of the museum was held on February 15, 2019 with the participation of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey.

Students of theological faculties from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan participate in the summer school together with the students of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology. The summer school is of great importance from the aspect of increasing students’ knowledge and skills, sharing experiences, expanding friendly relations, and promoting tolerant and multicultural environment in the country.

The students will be taught Arabic, English, Quran, Tafseer, Siyar, Hadith, Fiqh, Education, Turkish Language and Literature during the summer school. At the same time, the summer school will organize seminars and conferences for students with the participation of well-known businessmen, researcher and theologians.
