Bakıda “Müasir din təhsili modelləri ənənələr və qlobal çağırışlar kontekstində” mövzusunda beynəlxalq simpozium keçiriləcək
The International Symposium on “Modern Models of Religious Education in the Context of Traditions and Global Challenges” will be held with the joint organization of the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology and the Foundation for the Promotion of Moral Values, operating under the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan on October 22-23, 2025. The aims of the symposium are: to discuss the current situation in the field of religious education in Azerbaijan and the world; to analyze the problems encountered and make proposals for their solution; to create a platform for research work, exchange of information and experience between scientists and specialists, working in this direction.
The themes of the Symposium:
1. Religious Education: History, Traditions and Modernity.
2. Religious Education in a Secular State.
3. Religious Education, Tolerance and Multiculturalism.
4. Religious Education and Moral Values.
5. Models of Religious Education.
6. Different Approaches to Religious Education.
7. Constitutional and Legal Frameworks of Religious Education.
8. Religious Education and Social Development.
9. Problems and Perspectives of Religious Education in the Post-Soviet Space.
10. The Role of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Regulation of State-Religious Relations in Azerbaijan.
11. President Ilham Aliyev and Religious Education in Azerbaijan.
12. Causes for the Formation of Religious Illiteracy, Its Consequences (Religious Fanaticism, Superstition, Radicalism, and Extremism) and Methods of Combating Them.
13. Religious Education in Traditional and New Media.
14. Artificial Intelligence and Religious Education.
15. Religious Education in Formal Education, Family and Places of Worship.
16. Religious Education in the Fields of Social Services.
Rules for the Acceptance of Theses
1. The total volume of the theses should be 400-500 words.
2. At the beginning of the submitted thesis, after the title, the author’s name, academic degree or academic title, the institution he/she works for (represents), his/her position, city and country, e-mail address and ORCID code should be indicated.
3. At the end of the thesis, 5 keywords in the language in which the thesis is written must be indicated.
4. The text of the thesis must be in A4 format, in a 12-point font, Arial font, 2 cm at the top and bottom, 3 cm on the left, 1 cm on the right, with 1 interval.
5. The theses are accepted in the Azerbaijani, Turkish, English, Russian or Arabic languages.
6. For submission of the theses, authors must register on the website https://symposium.ait.edu.az/ and create a personal account. The theses are accepted only through the website. In evaluating the submitted theses, a bilateral anonymous peer review process is applied.
The deadline for submission: 26.05.2025.
The acceptance notification date: 26.06.2025.
Rules for the Acceptance of Articles:
1. Articles must be new research, not previously published in any source and not under peer review.
2. Articles are accepted in the Azerbaijani, Turkish, English, Russian or Arabic languages.
3. For submission of the articles, authors must register on the website https://symposium.ait.edu.az/ and create a personal account. The articles are accepted only through the website. In evaluating the submitted articles, a bilateral anonymous peer review process is applied.
4. The text of the article must be in A4 format, in a 12-point font, Arial font, 2 cm at the top and bottom, 3 cm on the left, 1 cm on the right, with 1 interval.
5. The total volume of the article should be 3000-5000 words.
6. At the beginning of the submitted research work, after the title, the author’s name, academic degree or academic title, the institution he/she works for (represents), his/her position, city and country, e-mail address and ORCID code should be indicated.
7. Furthermore, an abstract should be provided in the language in which the article is written and the keywords should be noted. The abstract should contain 200-250 words, and the keywords – 5-8 words. The keywords should be listed from general to specific.
The abstract and keywords should be provided not only in the language of the article, but also in English. The abstracts should include full name of the article and author, academic degree or academic title, the institution he/she works for (represents), his/her position, city and country, e-mail address and ORCID code. The abstracts and the keywords in the language of the article and in English should be placed before the introduction. The author’s scientific conclusion, the novelty, importance of the research, etc., should be briefly introduced in the abstract.
8. In accordance with the methodology of writing a scientific study, then there must be an introduction, at least 2 (two) subheadings, a conclusion and a list of references.
9. References to scientific sources on the topic are important. After the reference, the author’s name, year of publication and page number should be indicated in consecutive order in the brackets. Example: (Bunyadov, 2007, 17-21.)
10. Information about each link in the bibliography should be placed in the following format: Author (name, initials); Year of publication; Title of the work; City: Name of the publishing house (Volume). Example: Ismailov G. (2014). Tolerance: what we know and what we do not know. Baku: NPM Nurlar. (240 p.)
11. References to scientific sources on the topic for the last 10 years are important.
