Azerbaijan Institute of Theology held the first master’s thesis defense

The Faculty of Theology at Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) held the thesis defense of master’s students specializing in Psychology of Religion and Islamic Studies.

Academician Vasim Mammadaliyev, Chair of the Defense Council, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at BSU, delivered a speech and wished the students success in their future activities. The academician recommended the students to be involved in academic researches, transfer their knowledge from theory to practice and become a worthy citizen, talented specialist for the country.

The students who successfully completed their research and professional practice training defended their theses dedicated to various topics such as “Sigmund Freud and Religion”, “Carl Gustav Jung and Religious Overview”, “Freedom of Will in Islam” and “Evidence of the Existence of God in Islam”. The students further responded to the questions from the Council members.

The defense was attended by the Institute teachers, deans and department chairs. The attendees held discussions and familiarized themselves with the opponents’ reviews on theses. Then the Council members made speeches and shared their recommendations.

At the end, the students who defended their theses successfully were awarded master’s degree.

It is worth noting that Azerbaijan Institute of Theology will admit students to doctoral degree program for the 2020-2021 academic year. Azerbaijan Institute of Theology is an institution which aims to educate highly qualified religious specialists on the basis of modern educational standards, the historical traditions of the Azerbaijani people and the logical result of the state policy.
