Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia visits AIT

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan Hamad bin Abdullah bin Saud bin Khudair visited Azerbaijan Institute of theology (AII).
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, the rector Jeyhun Mammadov said that relations between two countries were at a high level and that President Ilham Aliyev attached great importance to cooperation with Muslim countries.

J. Mammadov noted that there is a high religious and spiritual environment in Azerbaijan, that the state-religion policy was formed by national leader Heydar Aliyev, and this policy is successfully continued by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. He emphasized that the state attaches specific importance to the development of religion as well as the protection of national and spiritual values.

AIT rector gave information about the Institute and spoke about the history of the Institute, its activities, international relations and educational standards. He noted that students have the opportunity to study belief, worship, moral systems and social structures of other religions along with Islam as well as the subjects such as philosophy, sociology, psychology, multiculturalism and others based on the methods of modern social sciences.

J.Mammadov noted that the Institute attaches particular importance to the study of foreign languages, especially the study of Arabic.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan Hamad bin Abdullah bin Saud bin Khudair expressed his satisfaction with the establishment of Azerbaijan Institute of Theology and appreciated the goal and objectives of the Institute. Giving information about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Ambassador spoke about the universities of the country including Islamic universities.

Hamad bin Abdullah bin Saud bin Khudair also mentioned the establishment of relations between the universities of the country and AIT as well as the exchange of experience.

The parties further exchanged views on future collaboration as well as student-teacher exchanges and other issues.

At the end of the meeting the guest familiarized himself with the Institute library.
