Conference on Contribution of Muslim Scholars to Science and Technology to be held

On November 29, 2019, Azerbaijan Institute of Theology and Yunus Emre Baku Institute will jointly organize a conference on Contribution of Muslim Scholars to the Development of Science and Technology.

The conference aims to explore the contributions made by Muslim scholars to science and technology as well as to create a platform for research, information and exchange for scholars and experts working in this field.

Erkan Özoral, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Azerbaijan; Cihan Özdemir, Director of the Yunus Emre Baku Institute; Professor Ersan Aslan, Rector of Kırıkkale University; Professor Fuat Sezgin; Mecit Cetinkaya, Chairman of the Islamic Science Historical Research Fund; Professor Musa Yildiz, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ahmet Yesevi University; Professor Vatan Karakaya, Rector of Ahi Evran University of Kırşehir; MPs, officials of ANAS and state agencies are expected to attend the event.

The conference will cover the topics such as “Role of Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophers’ Works in the Development of Islamic Thinkers”; “Impact of the Holy Quran and the Arabic Language on the Development of Science in the Muslim East”; “Role of Turkic-Muslim Scholars in the Development of Human Civilization”; “Role of Libraries in the Development of Science in the Muslim World”; “Contribution of Muslim Scholars to Science and Technology as a Research and Teaching Area: Methodological Issues, Historical Sources, Documents, Artifacts and Academic Cooperation”; “Services of Turkish-Muslim scholars in the Development of Exact, Natural and Humanitarian Sciences”; “Translation of Scientific and Philosophical Works of Turkic-Muslim Scholars into World Languages”; Role of Turkic-speaking Countries in the Development of Science and Technology in the Modern World: priorities and expectations.
