Television Channel France 2 team visits Azerbaijan Institute of Theology

Television Channel France 2 team involved in broadcasting Islam in Azerbaijan invited to Baku by Heydar Aliyev Foundation, visited Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT).

In his interview for TV channel France 2, AIT rector Jeyhun Mammadov gave detailed information about the Institute. He noted that the Institute was established by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev’s order dated February 9, 2018. Mentioning the goals and objectives of AIT, the Rector said that the education is tuition free at the Institute, and all the necessities of students are met by the state. J.Mammadov spoke about the existing majors at the Institute and said that majors related to Christianity and Judaism are expected to be opened in the future. The Rector noted that one of the primary goals of the Institute is to train highly qualified specialists with profound religious and secular knowledge as well as rich world outlook respecting representatives of all religions.

J.Mammadov emphasized the importance of benefiting from the experience of the leading European universities in the organization of education to meet the modern requirements.

AIT rector further informed the participants about the tolerant and multicultural environment in our country. He noted that representatives of all religions coexist respecting each other in our country. Noting that the world is subjected to terrorism, radicalism and extremism, the Rector said that our country was also affected by this and that 20% of our land was occupied by Armenia.

Boualem Gueritli said that the project aims to familiarize the world with the exemplary state-religion relations, traditions of coexistence, multiculturalism and tolerance existing in the country.
