Winter School organized by Azerbaijan Institute of Theology has started

The first day of the winter school on Religion, Culture and Society-2 organized by Azerbaijan Institute of Theology in Gabala is dedicated to seminars and visits.

Gunduz Ismayilov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered a speech on State, Society and Religion. He noted that centuries-old tradition of tolerance and multiculturalism of the Azerbaijani people has become one of the priority directions of state policy. Deputy Chairman stated that President Ilham Aliyev has always prioritized the idea of Azerbaijanism and the preservation of national and moral values.

Gunduz Ismayilov, Deputy Chairman of SCRA, further emphasized that along with worship, Islam attaches considerable importance on unity and solidarity. One of the major goals of our religion is to develop well-educated and exceptional citizens who will be helpful for their society, state and family. G.Ismayilov noted that since the advent of Islam, it attached particular value to science and education.

Deputy Speaker mentioned the essence of our national and religious values and emphasized the relevance of protecting them. He stressed that the promotion of national and moral values, especially religious values among young people can affect the attempts to spread alien religious ideologies.

The students then visited the Alley of Martyrs, which was reconstructed in Gabala for the perpetuation of the memory of the citizens who died in the battles for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The total area of the Alley of Martyrs covers an area of 2,500 square meters. The territory of the complex icludes two graves; the photos of 148 people who died for the independence of Azerbaijan are reflected on the granite walls.

During the visit to the Heydar Aliyev Center in Gabala, the students were informed comprehensively. It is noted that there are more than 340 exhibits reflecting different moments of the National Leader’s life. These include historical documents, books and photographs about the life and work of the National Leader. In the overall, the Center has more than 550 exhibits. The inauguration of the Heydar Aliyev Center took place on March 2, 2007, during Gabala visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

The Center also has DIY craft club, computer courses, music clubs, a drawing studio and an electronic library.
