AIT teacher participates in online international symposium

Asaf Ganbarov, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Theology at Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT), delivered a speech at the 2nd International Symposium on Sociology of Religion held by the Faculty of Theology of Aksaray University and Ankara University.

At the opening of the symposium, Ganbarov informed participants about the current situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and expressed his gratitude to Turkish state and people for their political, diplomatic and social support to Azerbaijan in the counter-offensive operations of the Glorious Azerbaijani Army to prevent Armeian Army’s attacks since September 27.

Speaking on "Theoretical and methodological studies of the sociology of religion in Azerbaijan," A. Ganbarov highlighted the issues related to the teaching of sociology of religion in Azerbaijan and analyzed the research in this area from a theoretical point of view.

Religious sociologists and leading scholars from different universities of Turkey and the world discussed the issues such as "Modern problems of sociology of religion", "Religious groups", "Secularization and religion", "Gender problem and religion", "Pandemic and religion: COVID - 19 ”and other problems at the 2nd International Symposium on Sociology of Religion. The participants joined the plenary sessions and held extensive discussions on the issues.
