Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) held a seminar on Universal Ethical Values Introduced to the World by the Prophet Muhammad.

Agil Shirinov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations at the Institute, greeted the event participants and gave information about the topic. He noted that historical national values play a significant role in the development and formation of the culture. Factors such as language, religion and tradition have a decisive impact on the formation of the national and spiritual world of each nation. Moral values are the feelings of love, affection, compassion, mercy, mutual care and support for each other.

A. Shirinov said that organizing conferences, seminars, roundtables and trainings, the Institute aims to instill feelings of national and moral values in students as well as contribute to their development as professional specialists.

PhD Vugar Samadov, Instructor at AIT, delivered a speech on Universal Ethical Values Introduced to the World by the Prophet Muhammad. He said that the Prophet (pbuh) has a number of sayings that encourage human morality as well as the following hadiths that call on people to be moral such as “Islam is a beautiful morality” and “The best among you in Islam are those with the best manners”. V.Samadov said that Islam praises positive traits such as righteousness, love, brotherhood, compassion and condemns negative characteristics such as injustice, hypocrisy, envy and other features.

Focusing on the Holy Prophet’s saying “I have been sent down only to complete the best of manners”, Ahmet Turgut, Turkish writer, said that Islam recommends religious people to be polite and demonstrate high moral behavior. He stressed that reading the Qur’an is not sufficient, one should also practice them.
