International Teachers’ Day has been celebrated at AIT

Azerbaijan Institute of Theology (AIT) has held an event dedicated to the International Teachers’ Day on October 5.

The event was attended by administrative and teaching staff as well as students.

AIT rector Jeyhun Mammadov congratulated the teaching staff on the occasion of International Teachers’ Day and wished them success in their future activities. J.Mammadov mentioned this date as a holiday of those who have this holy profession and devoted themselves to the bright future of people. Stressing that our people have highly appreciated teaching as a profession and attached particular importance to education, the Rector mentioned the complex activities implemented to develop education in recent years.

The Rector further quoted from Heydar Aliyev that education is the future of the nation and mentioned his special attention and care to the development of education and science in Azerbaijan. Currently, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev is pursuing this policy with great foresight.

J.Mammadov emphasized that thanks to teachers’ efforts, society is formed, personalities with strong education, rich world outlook and commendable behavior are developed. The Rector shared his recommendations with students about focusing on their education and using their time efficiently. The rector said that the progress of a nation is only possible through science, and called on students to study harder and work more actively.

Elnura Azizova, Head of the Department of Religious Studies at Azerbaijan Institute of Theology; Ahmed Niyazov, Head of the Department of Islamic Studies and Ilkin Alimuradov, Head of the Department of Languages and Social Sciences, congratulated the teachers on the occasion of International Teachers’ Day.

At the end of the event, several AIT teachers were awarded for fulfilling their performance at a high level.
